Obituary of Brett Edward Smith

Brett Edward Smith May 25, 1973 - September 04, 2013 Funeral services for Brett Edward Smith, 40, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 4:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Father Joseph Pacquing of Assumption Church in Roswell will be officiating. Mr. Smith was born on May 25, 1973, the second son of Stephen Smith and Carol (Sharp) and passed away from a fatal accident in Cloudcroft, NM on September 4, 2013. Brett joined the US Air Force in 1991 and later met his wife, Noemi Espino in Clovis, NM and they were married in Farwell, TX. They relocated in 1994 to Michigan and he was employed by Gainey & USF Holland as a truck driver. In June of 2009 Brett moved his family to Lovington, NM to work for Plains Marketing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved exploring new places and would take people hunting and fishing to give them a great nature experience. Brett loved life and lived each and every day as if it were his last. May he rest in peace in the arms of our loving Father. The family appreciates everyone’s expressions of sorrow and condolences during this difficult time. He is survived by his wife, Noemi of the home; one son: Patrick of Wayland, Michigan and one daughter, Heather, of Lovington; his parents; three brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
