Obituary of Guadalupe Cruz

Guadalupe Cruz August 20, 1931 - July 31, 2012 Funeral services for Guadalupe Cruz, 80, of Waco Texas, formerly of Lovington N.M, will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington cemetery. Mrs. Cruz was born on August 20, 1931 in Harlingen, Texas and passed away July 31, 2012 in Waco Texas with Hospice in attendance. She was a long time resident of Lovington N.M. and a staunch and faithful member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Her joy in life was serving the church in many areas. She married Marcelo Mario Cruz August 20, 1947 in Harlingen, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents: Eluterio and Elena Aguirre and her husband. She is survived by six children: Isabel Zupancic, Andres Cruz, Olga Cruz, Connie Rodriguez, Valeria Cruz and Irene Nichols; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also, two sisters, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Rosary will be Friday at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel. Visitation will be Friday August 3, 2012 from noon until 8:00 pm.
