Mema, Judie, or Sissy, as you all may have known her by was my grandmother but also the woman who raised me the majority of my life. Due to my grandparents kindness and generosity I was able to attend dance, gymnastics, sports, and any and every activity that my heart so desires. Mema and Pop helped my with all my school projects, so much so, that we even ordered caterpillars and tracked their growth for a science fair one year. I told my grandparents I had a dream similar to the Secret Garden and they built me a small patch garden complete with a white picket fence. My grandma sewed us Halloween costumes and fixed all of our clothes. She was a fiercely independent spitfire who had a passion for shopping and passed down her shoe obsession to all of her granddaughters and probably her grandson too. She did so much for her family with no hesitation or complaints and I can’t tell you how much we will miss her, myself especially.
