Obituary of Juan Rueda Cruz

Juan Rueda Cruz June 25, 1941 - December 14, 2009 Funeral services for Juan Cruz, 68, of Lovington will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 2:00 pm with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Rosary will be Wednesday, December 16th at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Cruz was born June 25, 1941 in Mexico to Juan Rueda and Felipa Cruz and passed away in Lubbock, TX on December 14, 2009. Mr. Cruz worked in maintenance for several years before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters; Remedio S., Rejina and Francisca Olbera; and one brother; Elijio Olbera. He is survived by one brother: Sacramento Cruz and one sister, Tomasa Olbera of El Paso, TX. His partner of several years, Petra Elmore of Lovington; stepchildren: Antonia and Ismael Salcido, Maria and Antonio Lopez, Gabriel and Esperanza Elmore, Max Elmore, Antonio and Roseann Elmore, Ermo and Lucy Elmore, Louis and Keagan Elmore, Socorro Cabanillas, all of Lovington, NM ; Cruz Corrales of Mexico and Jesus and Linda Zepeda of San Antonio, TX and several other family members.
