Obituary of John Calderon
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With great sadness we announce that our loved one John Cooper Calderon passed away peacefully July 4, 2019 surrounded by family. He was a loving son, devoted husband, protective brother, nurturing uncle and loyal friend. John was the first born son of Joe and Ema Calderon. He entered this world July 23, 1967. John was also known as "Jazz" to his friends and "Tito" to his family. He was a rambunctious and energetic child. He perfected his natural talent of design through the years. He attended N.M.J.C and earned a degree in business. He was lucky to have found the love of his life in Guy Calderon Cooper. They began a relationship on December 11, 1987 and were finally legally married on November 12, 2013. They were devoted to each other for over three decades. Together they embarked on a journey that took them down many paths. They owned and operated "The Rainbow Connection" in Abilene, TX and more recently "Altura Counseling and Wellness" in Las Vegas Nevada. Through many changes in locations and careers the one constant was their ability to rely on each other.
He enjoyed spending time with friends and family just listening to his "jams" and dancing. He was caring, hardworking, generous, courageous and full of life and he had a beaming smile and light hearted laugh. The old adage "To know him is to love him" is a perfect description. He bravely fought a long battle with cancer but ultimately God decided to grant him peace and release him from his suffering. His earthly presence will be missed immensely but we take great solace that his memory and love will forever remain.
He is survived by husband Guy Calderon Cooper; parents: Joe and Ema Calderon; In-laws William and Jarrell Cooper; younger sister Linda Ybarra and brother-in-law Adrian Baeza; youngest sister: Crystal and brother-in-law Aaron Ayala; sister and brother-in-law Donnie Reza and brother-in-law Brian Cooper. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews Jasmie Martinez, Janeah Ybarra, Adrian John Calderon Baeza, Justin and wife Casie Reza, Brendan Reza, Charisma Calvillo, Chole Calvillo, Eden Ayala Logan Ayala, Bailey cooper, Matt Morgan and great nephew Jaxon Reza, and also devoted furbabies Lucy an Farrah.
He was preceded in death by little brother, Joey Calderon; grandparents: Jose and Lucinda Calderon and Grandparents: Guadalupe and Corina Zamora.
