Funeral services for Zona Bussell, 86, of Lovington will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church with Matt Thackerson officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Zona was born on July 30, 1933 in Lamesa, TX to Ernest Earl and Willie Ruth (Scott) Rodgers and passed away on December 25, 2019 in Lovington. Zona was raised in Lamesa, TX. where she graduated. She liked to play dominos, cards, travel and putting puzzles together. Zona belonged to the Oil Wives Club of Hobbs. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Julius Bussell; one brother; Earnest Rodgers; and one sister: Ruth Rodgers; one daughter in-law Sabrina Bussell. Surviving her are four sons: Phil and wife Gayle of Hobbs, NM, Tim and wife Rose Mary of Artesia, NM, Layne and wife Kim of Woodstock, IL, and Scott and wife Tina of McKinney, TX; one sister: Shirley Kruse of Concord California; seven grandchildren: Michael J. and wife Rosa Linda Finley of Lubbock, TX; Jessica and husband Ely Perea of of Lubbock, TX; Chelsea and husband Rodney Holcomb of Carlsbad, NM; Sean Bussell of Woodstock, IL ;Katie Bussell also of Woodstock; Ryan Bussell and wife Ashton of McKinney, TX.; and Brendan Bussell of McKinney, TX; seven great-grandchildren: Justin Porterria, Michael D. Eldred, Julijah Murray, Avery Holcomb, Camden Perea, Emersen Bussell, and Percival Bussell: one great-great grandchild: Olivia Murray and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 9:00 until service time at First Baptist Church.
