Condolences to the family. Johnny was one of the good ones, never a dull moment around him. I worked for him as a roughneck and driller and we became good friends along the way. He always treated us (his hands) with respect and taught us a lot, instead of yelling like most of them. If we weren't tripping pipe on Sunday, you could always count on him to bring us steaks and fire up the grill. He even had a welder build one at the top of front steps of the top doghouse on MGF Rig 1. We kinda lost touch with each other over the years after I stopped working on the rigs; although, I would stop by and chat with him every time I seen him around the house. He always seemed to have a project to work on around the house. God Bless -- Rick Shurette

Johnny was my first Pusher,and my favorite.I wished I had been able to work around him more.He always took care of his hands and cooked for us often.You don’t see that much.I know he was a huge influence on my own career.Johnny was also a kind person with a wonderful sense of humor.Thankful I had the pleasure of knowing him.
