Obituary of Ariel Michelle Payen

Funeral services for Ariel Michelle Payen, 19, of Lovington NM will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Jesus Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Ariel was born on December 2, 2000 in Hobbs, NM to Arturo Payen and Julia Gonzalez and passed away on January 4, 2020. Ariel has always lived in Lovington where she attended school and was in the 12th grade. She also played Basketball when she was in school. Ariel enjoyed her nephew and spoiled him and he would run to her for help when he got in trouble. She liked to shop for others and to go places and she would make her twin sister go with her. She was funny and always smiling and making others laugh. She loved music and was a Raiders fan. She was a tomboy and very athletic. Preceding her in death are her paternal grandparents: Simon and Daria Payen and her maternal grandfather: Anselmo Gonzalez. Surviving her are her parents: Arturo Payen Sr. and Julia Gonzalez both of Lovington, NM; two sisters: Yvette Gonzalez of Lovington, NM her twin sister, April Payen of Lovington, NM; step sister, Daria Laura and husband Mike Franco of Lovington, NM; two step-brothers: Arturo Payen Jr. and wife Cristofina of Hobbs, NM and Damian Payen of Lubbock, TX.; one nephew, Daniel of Lovington, NM and her maternal grandmother: Marianna Gonzalez of Lovington, NM. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 from noon until Rosary time. Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel.
