Obituary of Wanda Morlene Cosentino

Memorial services for Wanda Morlene Cosentino, 91, of Hobbs, NM will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 7:00 pm at Desert Gardens, 200 S. Linam, Hobbs, NM with Ray Smith officiating. Wanda was born on May 11, 1928 in Newton, Kansas to Guy Christian and Naomi Hall and passed away on January 10, 2020 in Hobbs, NM. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Wanda grew up in Newton, Kansas, graduating high school there in 1946. She married Victor Cosentino on August 8, 1949 in Enid, Ok. Wanda attended Medical school and became an LPN and worked in hospitals, nursing homes and a Medical College. She was very compassionate with her patients. She and her husband lived in many different places as he was employed in the aero craft industry. They lived in so many different places the boys attended twelve different schools in twelve years. In 1996 they moved to Lea County and managed H & R Block in Lovington. Wanda was President of Black Gold Grandmothers Club in Hobbs and she enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, sewing, crocheting and ceramics. She loved the church and attended First Baptist while in Lovington and in more recent years she attended Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in Hobbs. Wanda was a member of the Jubilee Choir at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church for many years and she worked with Gideons Auxiliary. She was an independent minded lady and was spoiled by her husband and family, the boys said. She loved her grandchildren and family very much. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents: Guy and Naomi Hall; one son: Guy Cosentino; three sisters: Doris Kennedy, Audrey Hopkins, and Newell Hall; and one grandson: Donald Cosentino. Surviving her are two sons: James Cosentino and wife Lynn of Hobbs, NM, and Vernon Cosentino and wife Carolyn of Seminole, TX; one brother: Clayton Hall of Wichita, KS; three sisters: Nancy Stefen of Sedgwick,KS and Janice and husband Orval Blair of San Antonio, TX.
