Obituary of Milton Dwight Hencey

Milton Dwight Hencey, 76, passed away at his home on April 16, 2020. He was born on April 12, 2020 in Arcadia, Kansas to Arthur Estees and Bonnie Mae (Wheeler) Hencey and was raised and graduated in Kansas. He married Lana Dianne Cavett in Hobbs, NM on January 8, 1971 and they shared forty nine years of life, love and family together. Milton was a mechanic and worked for varied oilfield companies doing mechanic work, welding, building, and truck driving and could make iron do just about anything. He was multi-talented in many areas. As a musician, which was his passion, he could play the guitar, Dobro, fiddle, Banjo, Bass and several more instruments and loved Country music, Rock and Roll and in later years Blue Grass. He was a member of SENM Blue Grass Association and they played for the National Music Festival in El Paso one year and had numerous jam sessions anywhere they could. They played in Lovington, Hobbs, at White Mountain Reserve Fire Department in Ruidoso, nursing homes and all over the country. He was a NRA member and enjoyed hunting and shooting and clay pigeon contests with his kids. Milton was a hardworking, loving, father that had strong work ethics and loved his family very much. He loved old western movies and was a very giving man to others when help was needed. He was well liked and well thought of around the community and a trusted man with lots of friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister: Carol Hencey and one grandchild: Clayton Michael. Surviving him is his wife Lana of the home one son: Doug and wife Melinda Hencey of Hobbs, NM and two daughters: Diane Henry of Hobbs and Destiny Cline of Lubbock, TX; two brothers: Robert E. Hencey of Arcadia, KS and Don and wife Frances Hencey of Girard, KS; one sister: Sharon Hencey of Arcadia Ks; five grandchildren: Ashley, Tori, Dylan, Carter and Berklee. There will be a memorial service for Milton at a later time in Arcadia, KS.
