Obituary of Vivian Lavell Simpson

Funeral services for Vivian Lavell Simpson, 79, of Tatum, NM will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Tatum Baptist Church at 10:00 with Pastors' Harry Pittam and Charles Day officiating. Burial will follow at Tatum Cemetery. Mrs. Simpson was born on August 4, 1940 in Hermleigh, TX to Ernest Alfred and Letha Faye (Kelley) Burney and passed away at her home in Tatum on June 18, 2020. In September of 1975 she married B.J. Simpson in Tatum and they have shared forty five years of life, love and family together. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Tatum for forty plus years and served as assistant treasurer at the church at one time. In earlier years she was employed with Tatum Cash, Western Commerce Bank for twenty two years and Leaco for five years before retiring. Vivian enjoyed taking cruises, visiting people, especially kinfolks, and she loved her grandchildren and family. She was a good listener, had a good sense of humor, enjoyed reading, cooking and listening to audio books. One of her many talents was oil painting. She was loved deeply by her family and will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death were her parents; one son: Jackie Troy Page; one daughter: Ruby Townsend Page; two granddaughters: Samantha and Alicia Page and one sister: Reba Drew. Surviving her is husband B.J; four children: Ricky and wife Linda Page of Jenks, OK and their children: Cristen and husband Nick Ocepeck of Bixby, OK and great-grandchildren: Sagan, Waverly and Roark Ocepeck; Scott Page and fianceé, Becky Tingle of Sweeny, TX and their children: Kelby and wife Susan Page of Brazoria, TX and great-grandson: Perrin; Suzy Bretz Inmon of Tatum, NM and her children: Crystal Inmon and Adam Bayless and great-grandson, Ridley Bayless; Austin Inmon and great-granddaughter Kayanna Inmon; Reid and wife Sherri Bretz of Tatum, NM and their children: Stephanie and husband Cody Murphree of Wichita Falls, TX and great-grandchildren, Tesleigh, Cason and Corbin Murphree; Sydney and husband Wes Wood of Midland, TX and great-grandchildren: Brixton and Brylee Wood; Landon and wife Cadee Williams of Weatherford, TX and great-grandaughter: Honor Williams; also one brother: Dean and wife Delores Burney of Oklahoma City, OK and one sister: Melba Page of Houston, TX. Pallbearers will be Ricky Page, Scott Page, Reid Bretz, Kelby Page, Austin Inmon, Keith Klein, Stevie Page, and Cody Murphree; Honorary Pallbearers will be Fip Fryer, James Stevens, Daryll Mullins. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22nd from 4:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home, 1106 North Main with family in residence from 5:00-7:00 pm.
