Graveside memorial services for Arnold L. "A.L." Henry, 73, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 4:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery with Gary Chapman officiating. Mr. Henry was born on July 20, 1946 in Anadarko, OK to Arnold Sr. and Iris (Peoples) Henry and passed away at his residence in Lovington on June 11, 2020. AL attended school in Snyder and Seminole and also Utah and Lovington. His family moved around a lot as his dad worked in the oilfield. A.L. worked for C& G, Shorty Garza and then went into the Army National Guard of a short while. He had a bad wreck that changed his life but he persisted and overcame a lot of the pain from the accident. He went to work in Odessa for Champion Chemicals and then when back in Lovington he was a roustabout. In December of 1985 he married Mary Sue Blancet and they made their home in Roswell and he worked at Sunset 1600. He and Mary loved to dance and would go to Roswell, Carlsbad, Artesia, Andrews and Tatum. They loved dancing!! AL has been a member of Trinity Baptist Church since 1988. In more recent years, one of his favorite past times was reading and watching TV. He had a black cat for thirteen years that he spoiled and enjoyed his antics. He loved his family very much. Preceding him in death was his parents, one sister: Rosa Lee Taylor and his wife Mary Sue Henry. Surviving him is his sweet lady friend & significant other: Evelyn Stanfield of Lovington, one son: Joe Bob and wife Audra Henry of Hobbs, NM; Daughter: Shawndell Henry of Lovington and Amanda Dodd of Lovington and one sister: Hope and husband Terry Anthony of Lovington; also eleven grandchildren and numerous other great-grandchildren and extended family.
