Obituary of Arthur Copeland

Visitation for Arthur "Bud" Copeland, 78, of Copperas Cove, Texas and formerly of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel from 2:00 - 4:00 pm with burial to follow at Lovington Cemetery. Mr. Copeland was born on February 2, 1942 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020. Bud was devoted to and loved his wife, family and his friends. He enjoyed life, hearing a good joke and stayed very active. He and Rhonda enjoyed many adventures together. Some of his favorite things were visiting with his family and being with his friends, going dancing, traveling, fishing and gardening. Bud was the type of man that could be counted on if anyone needed help. He was there to make home repairs or help them move or drive them to the doctor. Always, he was the friend that could be relied upon and he shared that irresistible smile with each one. He will be greatly missed. Preceding him in death were his parents: Nell and Buster Copeland; his first wife: Judy Copeland; one daughter: Sheila Copeland and step-daughter: Amy Knox; great-grandson: Braxton Kuykendall; his brother: Paul Copeland and two sisters: Emma Ruth "Jo" Bailon and Edith Lowry. Surviving him is his wife Rhonda Copeland; three sons: Arthur Louis "Buddy" and wife Lupe Copeland; Michael and wife Georgia Copeland and Danny Copeland; two brothers: Charles and wife Nadine Copeland and Ray Copeland. Bud was blessed with twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren. Also, many extended family and friends. Due to the Covid-19 we will let as many as we can in to visit with family and please be courteous if you are asked to step out and let someone else come in, but at the cemetery all may go.
