Obituary of Rebecca Louise Beggs

Graveside funeral services for Rebecca Louise "Becky" Beggs, 61, of Lovington, NM will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at Lovington Cemetery with Brad Morgan officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Becky was born on April 18, 1959 in Watonga, OK to Tim Joseph Johnson and Charlotte Fern (Welch) Pergeson and joined her Lord and Savior on October 5, 2020 in Lovington, NM. She graduated from Portales High School in 1977 and also received a Bachelor of Science and Education degree in elementary education from Eastern New Mexico University in 1993. She lived in Tatum for a short while and taught a Sunday School class there. She also taught school in Hobbs for about ten years. She married Jim Beggs on June 9, 1982 and they have shared thirty eight years of life together. Becky was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she loved reading, especially her Bible. She enjoyed doing her daily devotionals at home and writing poems and stories. She will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers: Junior and James. Surviving her is her husband Jim of the home; two sons: Jeffrey and Steven Beggs; three grandchildren: Melissa, Bodie, William and one great-grandson, Olliver. Also seven sisters: Pamela, Rhonda, Carla, Beth, Kathy, Marjorie, Roxianna and three brothers: Don, Eric and TJ and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 2:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home, 1106 N. Main in Lovington. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
