Graveside services for Carolyn Sue Heavington, 68, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery with David Stewart officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Carolyn was born on January 3, 1952 in Fort Worth, TX to James and Mary Camp and passed away on October 5, 2020 in Lubbock, TX. She grew up in Maljamar, NM and graduated from Lovington High School in 1970. She married Royce Heavington in 1991 and they have shared twenty nine years together. She worked for Lea County Correctional Facility for twenty-two years, where she enjoyed her work and the friendship of her working companions. She had a love for animals and country music. Her dogs, Sissy and Bubba were loved and spoiled by her. She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Mary Camp: three sisters: Lou Ellen Camp, Pat Cottrell, and Doris Jackson; a nephew Kevin Grissom and a niece Kimberly Hobbs. She is survived by her husband Royce Heavington of Lovington, NM; one sister: Sandra Speir of Albuquerque, NM; three nephews: Chad Jackson and wife Angie of Midland, TX and James Hobbs and wife Diane of Sarasota, FL and Chauni Cottrell of Myakka City, FL; three nieces: Beverly Benson of Albuquerque, NM, Judith Speir of Azel, TX and Vicki Newville and husband Rick of Bradenton, FL, as well as numerous great-nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
