Obituary of Cathy Lynn Stone

Funeral services for Cathy Lynn Stone, 54, of Hobbs, NM will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Christian Center Church in Hobbs at 10:00 am with Pastor Jotty Kinney officiating. Burial will follow on Saturday at Veale Creek Cemetery at Possum Kingdom Lake, TX at 10:00 am. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Cathy was born on October 8, 1966 in Amarillo, TX to D. L. and Barbara Joyce (Hollis) Wood and passed away on November 8, 2020 in Lubbock, TX. She grew up in Graham and Possum Kingdom, TX, graduating at Graham. Cathy loved the water and enjoyed water skiing, swimming and fishing. In 1990 she moved to Lovington and worked in the restaurant business, learning all aspects of the business and also worked at Stone Oilfield Service for many years. She was a collector of many things and really liked doing crafts. Cathy had a great sense of humor, was a good cook and was the lenient one when it came to discipline of the kids, so W.H. had to do the discipline. She was always there for them, and loved watching Caleb racing on the dirt tracks and being a part of their lives. She loved the grandkids and at Christmas she really tried to spoil them. She will be greatly missed as she was greatly loved. Preceding her in death was her father. Surviving her are two sons: Dustin and wife Verba Wood of Lovington, Caleb Stone and significant other, Karen Enriquez of Hobbs, NM; two daughters: Niki and husband Michael Rogers of Lovington and Clover Stone of Hobbs; her former husband and father of their children: W. H. Stone; her mother: Joyce Wood of El Paso, TX; one sister: Vicki Wood of Seymour, TX; and twelve grandchildren: Brailley, Danyl, Rhylee, Kaisyn, Caleb, Neddi, Bentley, Carter, Cash, Weslee, Charlie, and Huxley. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12th from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Please remember the mandates for masks and only five at a time in chapel so taking turns is a must.
