Obituary of Danny DeVore

Watch the Tribute Danny DeVore July 11, 1946 - May 12, 2012 Celebration of life services for Danny DeVore, 65, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the family home at 5305 Payne Road from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Danny was born on July 11, 1946 in Olney, Illinois to James Samuel and Rosie Mae (Edwards) DeVore and passed away at his home on Saturday, May 12, 2012. He married Gay Lynn Strawn in Lovington on June 16, 1968. Danny was employed by Frontier Airlines in Farmington, NM and Reno, Nevada for over 20 years and was also a truck driver for Propane Direct. He was an outdoors guy, enjoying camping, spending time with his family, and gardening, as he had quite a green thumb. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam era earning several medals. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Steven Samuel DeVore and one sister: Donna Eugene DeVore Higgins. He is survived by his wife, Gay Lynn of the home, two sons: James “J.D.” Howard DeVore and Daniel Gerome and wife Brenda DeVore both of Lovington, and one granddaughter: Danielle Renae DeVore of Lovington. Also one brother-in-law, Charles Strawn of Lovington and a special aunt: Billie “Tootsie” Hopper and husband Joe Hopper of Albuquerque, NM.
