Obituary of Aurora Silva

Funeral services for Aurora Silva, 80, of Lovington will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Ratliff Chapel with Jimmy Rivero officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Aurora was born on February 25, 1941 in Poth, TX to Refugio Sanchez Sr. and Petra Gonzales and passed away on October 21, 2021. Aurora married Antonio P. Silva in 1959 where they both lived in Snyder, TX. After losing her husband she moved to Lovington in 1970. She started working at Pearls restaurant where she worked for several years. Aurora then dedicated her life raising her children and one of her favorite passtimes was going to the bingo hall. She also loved playing Pitti Pat and Mexican Lotteria with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Refugio Sanchez Sr. and Petra; her husband: Antonio P. Silva; one daughter: Petra Silva; one son: Juan Silva; two brothers: Andres Sanchez Sr. and Santos Sanchez Sr.; three sisters: Rosa Macias, Carolina E. Herrera, and Virginia Hernandez. She is survived by her sons: Antonio P. Silva Jr. of Lovington, Salvador S. Silva Sr. and wife Maria of Lovington, and Daniel Utajara and wife Vicki of Lovington; five daughters: Juanita and husband Manuel Rivero of Amarillo, Norma Silva of Lovington, Wanda Silva of Lovington, Lisa Martinez of Lovington, and Rebecca and husband Efrain Tarin of Lovington; four brothers: Cruz Sanchez and wife Mary Ann of Lovington, Pantaleon Sanchez Sr. and wife Guadalupe of Lovington, Refugio Sanchez Sr. and wife Juliana of Lovington, and Reinaldo Sanchez Sr. and wife Margarita of Amarillo; two sisters: Guadalupe and husband Diego Ponce of Lovington, and Manuela Ortiz of Arizona; thirty-nine grandchildren, ninety three great-grandchildren, and thirty-six great-great-grandchildren.
