Obituary of Donna Benge

Funeral services for Donna Joyce Benge, 92, of Lovington will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at Kirby-Ratliff Chapel with Bro. Randy Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Donna was born on December 14, 1928 in Maud, Oklahoma to Arvel and Edith (Jarrette) Raper and passed away on November 1, 2021. Donna had a long and distinguished career exceeding thirty years with Lea County during which she was twice elected Lea County Clerk. Donna volunteered as a member of the Lovington Public Library Board, as well as a former member of the Lovington Genealogy Society and Altusa Club. Donna was a life-long member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was an avid birdwatcher. Preceding her in death were her parents: Arvel and Edith Raper; her husband: George Benge; one sister: Barbara Campbell and one brother: A.J Raper. She is survived by her son: Steve Benge and Loretta Milligan of Hobbs; two daughters: Debbie Benge Frost and husband Bert of Odessa, TX. and Ava Benge of Lovington; one brother: Richard Raper; four granddaughters: Ashlie Hampton, Meaghin Villalobos, Jordan Benge, and Zakaya Benge; and numerous nephews, nieces, and in-laws. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Chapel.
