Obituary of Ray Dale Drummond

Ray Dale Drummond October 07, 1919 - April 19, 2015 Graveside services for Ray Dale Drummond, 95, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Lovington Cemetery at 11:00 am with David Young officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Drummond was born in Cache, Oklahoma on October 7, 1919 to Frank and Grace Rebecca (Nosler) Drummond and passed away at Nor-Lea Hospital on April 19, 2015. Ray married Norma Katherine Zieschang on June 30, 1932 at Camp Polk, Louisiana. He was retired from the United States Army as Chief Warrant Officer, having served his country for twenty four years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but his favorite enjoyment was museums. He worked as a Docent at the Museum of the Horse in Ruidoso and also volunteered at Lea County Museum. He and Norma enjoyed traveling in earlier years and were on the go anytime they had the opportunity. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; one daughter: Kitty Miller; two brothers: Frank and Bob Drummond and one sister: Faye Masoner. Ray is survived by his three daughters: Dixie Drummond, Carol Streber, and Lynda McGinnes , all of Lovington; four grandchildren: John Gilmore, Becky Young, Janean Gilliland and Pilar Carrasco and ten great-grandchildren. Also, surviving him are his three faithful and loving caregivers: Frances and Jesse Munoz and Delma Sanchez.
