Ben was born on March 15, 1943 in Lubbock Tx. to Marvin and Jeanette (Watkins) Powell and passed away on February 7, 2022 in Lubbock. Ben married Elizabeth Smith on December 2, 1972. Ben's passions were ranching, welding and spending time with his family. He served on the Tatum School Board for over Twenty years. He loved his family, country, God and soldiers and not necessarily in that order.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin and Jeanette Powell.
He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Powell; one son: Mark Scisson and wife Tonjua of Lubbock; three daughters: Sherral Trotter and husband Randy of El Paso, TX., Kasey White and husband Corby of Panhandle, TX., and Kendra Powell and Leo Sandmann of Artesia; one brother: Kenny Powell; and two sisters: Marvanette Sowell, and Marlene Tatchio; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
