Ed was born in Wellview, TX. November 20, 1930. Married in 1955 to Cora Marthel "Marty" Bowen. Ed died on November 1, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas. Ed served our country in the Korean War. After moving to New Mexico, he worked for a ranch in Tatum. He then made a career in the oil field until his mid 80's. He loved being involved in the community, including 4-H, AQHA, Playdays, the American Legion, special rodeo, and dog trial competitions. Ed was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Idella Ward, son Douglas, siblings Betty, Jane, Dee, and Geary. He leaves behind his wife, Marty, of 67 years, two daughters Peggy and Vicki Ward, Granddaughter Amy Ward, Grandson Trent Ward, and Great-grandchildren Ashley, Caleb, Riley, Lilly, Ethan, Brinley, and Kinley. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 2-5 PM at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home in Lovington. Services will be held at Jackson Avenue Baptist Church on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 1 PM. There will be no graveside service.
