Obituary of Dory Evans

Dory "David" Evans January 04, 2017 Dory “David” Evans, 81, left this world on January 4, 2017 in Lubbock, TX after battling ill health. He was born in Ropesville, TX on May 28, 1935, the only child of J Roland and “Ted” Evans and he passed from this life into Glory surrounded by loved ones who never left his side since his was admitted to the hospital. He had lived in several places through his life, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico but spent most of his life working on the Kinsolving Ranches at Tatum, NM. He had three passions in life, Jesus, his family and good horses. He was a cowboy to the core and never missed an opportunity to tell an “ole” cowboy story. He was a kind gentleman and leaves a legacy of love and wisdom for his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Preceding him in death were his parents. David is survived by the love of his life, Nita Perkins; four daughters: Brenda and husband John Jones of Quanah, TX; Robbin Evans of Meadow, TX; Sheila and husband Kevin Morrow of Levelland, TX and Lisa Perkins of Lubbock. He was the proud grandfather to five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Tatum First Baptist Church with Josh Crow officiating. According to David’s wishes cremation has taken place and burial will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Childrens Miracle Network, UMC Childrens Hospital, PO Box 5980, Lubbock, TX 79408.
