Obituary of Martin Wayne Briley

Martin Wayne Briley June 24, 1958 - July 22, 2015 Memorial services for Martin Wayne Briley, 57, of Midland, Texas and formerly of Lovington, NM, will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Crosswinds Community Church in Lovington with Bro Matt Ray officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Briley was born on June 24, 1958 in Seminole, Texas to W. H. and Margaret (Sutherlin) Briley and passed away on July 22, 2015 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Martin grew up in Lovington and graduated from Lovington High School. He married the love of his life, Karen Barr, on March 22, 1981 in Lovington, NM and spent his career drilling oil wells in the Permian Basin. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing and boating at his favorite place, Possum Kingdom Lake. He had a kind heart, a wonderful smile and a great love for his family and friends. Martin was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vickie Briley. He is survived by his wife of thirty four years, Karen, of the home; one son: Brandon and wife Winter Briley of Malaga, NM; two daughters: Jessica and husband Clayton Holladay of Midland, TX and Kristin and husband Lorenzo Hernandez of Lubbock, TX; one sister: Sandra Briley of Morgan Hills, CA; four grandchildren: William Woodfin, Keagan Joe Briley, Katelyn Holladay and Madilyn Holladay and a host of other family and friends.
