Obituary of Roi Kay Flatt

Roi Kay Flatt December 30, 1945 - May 05, 2015 Graveside Memorial services for Roi “Kay” Sumruld Flatt, 69, of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Resthaven Cemetery at 11:00 am with Rev. Tommy Lawson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Kay was born on December 30, 1945 in Hobbs, NM to LeRoy and Francis Gail (Richards) Sumruld and passed away at her home in Lovington on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Kay had traveled and worked with her husband on ranches from Florida to Montana. She loved working with horses and in the last several years had proven she had a good eye for picking good thoroughbreds for racing. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning and taking care of her home and especially liked doing arts and craft projects. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: William P. Flatt; two sons: Tod and Dan Flatt and one daughter: Shelby Flatt. Surviving her is her companion, Robert Wood of Seagraves, TX; two sisters: Betty Gail and husband Thomas Lawson of Carlsbad, NM and Sue Ann and husband Ralph Brinkley of Sulphur, Louisiana; one cousin: Charlotte and husband Garland Frasier of Midland, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
