Obituary of Robert R. Garcia

Robert R. Garcia Jr. December 02, 1953 - February 13, 2009 Funeral services for Robert R. Garcia Jr. will be held on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Lovington. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith- Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Garcia was born in Spur, Texas on December 2, 1953 to Robert Sr. & Magdelena Reynero Garcia. He passed away at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas on February 13, 2009. Mr. Garcia was employed by Lea County Electric Company for 32 years. He was a faithful employee and enjoyed his work very much. He was a family man and loved being with his grandkids and working in his yard. He was a computer person and he truly liked riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. & Magdelena Garcia, one sister and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Lucy of the home, 3 sons; Santos & wife Norma Garcia of Levelland, TX, David & wife Tommie Garcia of Lovington, NM, and Joey & wife Erica Garcia of Carlsbad, NM. Two brothers; Celestino & wife Morena Garcia of Brownfield, TX. and Alex & wife Maria Garcia of Brady, TX. Seven sisters; Nora Sanchez of Oklahoma City, OK., Ester Menchaca of Brownfield, TX., Lupe Davila of May, TX., Elida & husband Sipriano Lujan of Sweetwater, TX., Irene & husband Daniel Sanchez of Graham, TX., Hortensia Redondo of Fresno, CA., and Dale Constancia of Waco, Texas; Nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
