Obituary of Leota Bea Brow

Leota Bea Brow May 12, 1934 - December 28, 2013 Memorial services for Leota Bea Brow, 79, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 4:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with Dave Whitman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Leota was born on May 12, 1934 in Hobbs, NM to Bea and Tempie (Griffin) Buchanan and passed away in Lubbock, TX on December 28, 2013. She grew up in the Permian Basin and Lea County as her dad worked in the oilfields and they moved around a lot. They attended the closest church wherever they lived. She married Cletus Brow in Hobbs on April 18, 1953. Leota lived in Georgia for fifteen years and was a bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lovington and was very active at church, teaching Sunday School Classes and working with “Joyful Connections” for the young people. She was very knowledgeable biblically. Her favorite thing to do was play cards and she played a lot at the Senior Citizens Center here in Lovington. She was a fun person to be around and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons: Paul Brow and Eddie Brow; one brother: Jack Buchanan and one sister: Helen Glaze. Leota is survived by her daughter: Elizabeth “Beth” and husband Charles Nowlin of Atlanta, GA; her daughter –in-law: Leslie Brow of Lovington, NM; five grandchildren: Charles Brow of Lubbock, Jessica Yoos of Charlotte, N.C.; Adam Sexton of San Antonio, TX, Tabitha Brow of Atlanta, GA and Keli Brow of Odessa, TX, and five great-grandchildren: Christian, Ariel, Haven and Sierra and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, General Fund, 407 North Main, Lovington, NM 88260.
