Obituary of Mary Ogla Garza

Mary Ogla Garza September 27, 1936 - January 09, 2017 Memorial services for Mary Olga Garza, 80, of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 10:30 am at First Christian Church with her grandson, Aaron Zapata officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Ms. Garza was born in Yorktown, TX on September 27, 1936 to Donesimo and Felipa (Molina) Garza and passed away on January 9, 2017 in Lovington. She has lived in Lovington since the 1960’s and was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed her family and her friends but especially enjoyed her grandchildren and being with her family. She was an awesome cook and liked to bake. She also crocheted and liked going for walks and loved flowers. She was a “super sassy grandma” and was very plain spoken, even blunt sometimes, but she always loved her family. She never met a stranger and liked visiting her friends. She always cared more about taking care of others than she did herself as she was a giving lady. She loved her Novelas! She was a Christian woman that read her Bible diligently. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sons: Joe Avila, Pete, Rudy, Pete and Ronnie Coronado; one daughter: Yolanda Beck and one grandson and one granddaughter; also three brothers: Santos, Augustine, Jake. Surviving her is one son: Mariano Nino Coronado of Ranger, TX; three daughters: Gracie Coronado of Ranger, TX, Mary and husband Jesse Zapata of Lovington, and Ann Margaret and husband Willis Hatcher of Tatum, NM; four brothers and four sisters; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
