Obituary of Lillian Gregory

Lillian "Wacil" Gregory October 09, 1924 - November 19, 2017 Funeral services for Wacil Gregory, 93, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at Jackson Ave Baptist Church with Bro. Dave Rowser officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Ms. Gregory was born in Clovis, NM on October 9, 1924 to Luther and Lillie (Higgins) Locker and passed away at Good Samaritan Center on November 19, 2017. Wacil grew up in Meadow, TX and came to Lovington in 1945. She was a waitress for a good period of time in Meadow and met her future husband there, Troy Gregory. They were married in Frederick, OK on January 20, 1944. Wacil was a member of Jackson Ave Baptist Church for many years and was loved by all. She was the most encouraging person and was wonderful at sending uplifting cards to people. She had a sweet smile and was a kind lady, even though she could definitely speak her mind. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kay Shuman, and one granddaughter, Kimberly Satre; and two brothers: Winston and Elmo Locker. Surviving her are her five children: Bo and wife Charlotte Gregory of Kansas City, Missouri, Jerry and wife Linda Gregory of Cedar Hill, TX, and Tim and wife Diane Gregory of Gun Barrel City, TX; Reba Klement of Lovington, NM and Terrie and husband Johnny Blackwood of Lovington, NM. Also ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
