Charles Marion Hanson June 28, 1941 - May 19, 2017 Graveside memorial services for Charles Hanson, 75, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery with Bro. Harry Pittam officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Hanson was born in Colorado City, Texas to James Marion and Bessie Oleta (Murphy) Hanson on June 28, 1941 and passed away on May 19, 2017 in Lovington. In earlier years Charles was a chef in Kentucky and after coming to New Mexico he worked in the oilfield on drilling rigs. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Linda Hanson; one sister: Mary Eda Cromwell and one grandson: Brian. Surviving him are his children: Sharon Irene Faith and husband Chad of Brady, TX; Gary Alton Hanson of New Mexico and Mary Elizabeth Hanson of the home; one daughter-in-law: Minnie Hanson of Lovington; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; also one brother: Danny Hanson of California, Kentucky; four sisters: Sherri Class of Brooksville, Kentucky, Darlene Stricker of Highland Heights, Kentucky, Sandra Hanson of Alexander, Kentucky and Moadonna and husband Ed Saner of Melbourne, Kentucky.
