Obituary of James Christopher Aguinaga

James "Chris" Christopher Aguinaga October 23, 1969 - April 03, 2017 Funeral services for James Christopher “Chris” Aguinaga, 47, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church with Brian Ponder officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Chris was born in Hobbs, NM on October 23, 1969 to Antonio and Mary Nell (Oliver) Aguinaga and passed away on April 3, 2017 in Lovington. He grew up in Lovington, attending school at LHS. He enjoyed music and liked to dance, especially with his children. Chris was a well- liked man, popular with his friends and was very talented at making people laugh. He worked in the oilfield and for an extended time was employed by M & S. In recent months, Chris would put scriptures on facebook to share, in hopes that it would touch someone’s heart and their life might be changed by his sharing. He was a kind and giving young man. He was preceded in death by his grandfather: J. D. Oliver. Surviving him are his parents: Tony and Mary Nell Aguinaga of Lovington; two daughters: Breeanna Aguinaga and fiancée Casey Old of Corinth, TX and Micah Aguinaga of Lewisville, TX; one sister: Angela Linkey of Andrews, South Carolina; two grandchildren: Baylin Aguinaga and Grainger Old of Lewisville, TX; his children’s mother: Amy Aguinaga of Lewisville, TX, several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be on Friday, April 7th from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
