Obituary of Joyce Carolyn Hodge Sellers

Joyce Carolyn Hodge Sellers January 01, 1939 - December 04, 2016 Funeral services for Joyce Carolyn Hodge, 77, of Bronco, TX and formally of Lovington, NM will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Patrick Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Joyce was born in Santa Ana, TX to Wyatt J. and Juanita (Pritchard) Smith on January 1, 1939 and passed away in Lubbock, TX. on December 4, 2016. Joyce attended some of her school years in Lovington but graduated from Hagerman High School. She was employed in banking with Western Commerce Bank for several years and lastly was employed as a secretary at Hillcrest Baptist Church before her retirement. She was a long time, dedicated member of Hillcrest Baptist and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She had more recently joined Plains Baptist Church as it was more convenient to her home when she moved. Joyce’s greatest love and enjoyment in life was her family. She was very family oriented and would travel all over the country to family gatherings and to the kids and grandchildren’s activities and games. She loved sports, especially if any of her family was playing. She was always there for her family! She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband Larry Hodge, one son: Philip Hodge, and one brother, Tony Smith. She is survived by one son: Lance and wife Natalie Hodge of Lovington, NM; two daughters: Becky Lambert Hodge of Lovington, NM, and Pam and husband Bobby Fitzgerald of Lovington, NM; two brothers: Rodney and wife Pat Smith of Keller, TX and Farrell & wife Deanna Smith of Houston, TX; three sisters: Wanda Chrisman of Flower Mound, TX; Linda and husband Sonny Howell of Keller, TX and Debbie and husband Tom Miller of Searcy, AR; one brother-in-law: Jimmy Hodge of Lovington, NM: seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm with the family in residence from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
