Obituary of Rolland H. Hudson

Rolland H. Hudson September 09, 1937 - October 16, 2015 Funeral services for Rolland H. Hudson, 78, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with David Villar, Pastor of New Beginnings Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Rolland was born on September 9, 1937 in Clint, Texas to Hubert and Alma (Leslie) Hudson and passed away on October 16, 2015 at his residence. Rolland was a “huge” Dallas cowboy fan. He liked to go fishing, hunting, and go to the mountains. He was an avid outdoor man. He also was a terrific cook and taught his son Forrest how to cook. He was famous for his Sunday morning pancakes, bacon, biscuits, steak gravy, fried potatoes and eggs, and for his loaves of bread, rolls and cinnamon rolls. His kids and grandchildren loved being at those breakfasts and enjoyed the fellowship that was so important to all the family. Rolland was the epitome of a family man, and his greatest joy was being with family. He retired from Trey Resources of Midland in September of 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Truman Henderson. He is survived by his wife Letha of the home; four sons: Stephen Hudson of Green River, Wyoming, Forrest Hudson of Lovington, NM, Dan and wife Koni Gordon of Taylor, Texas, and Mike Hudson of Lovington, NM; two daughters: Penny Hudson of Lovington, NM and Dianna Hudson of Andrews, Texas; one brother: Johnny and wife Sharian Henderson of Lovington, NM; one sister: Sue and husband Ernest Carlisle of Lovington, NM; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
