Obituary of Clayton Marvin Hughes

Clayton Marvin Hughes October 24, 1930 - September 01, 2015 Memorial services for Clayton Marvin Hughes, 84, of Lovington, NM, were held on Friday, September 4, 2015 with family and close friends attending. Mr. Hughes was born on October 24, 1930 in Lamesa, Texas to Harvey Austin and Fannie Mae (Murray) Hughes and passed away at his home on September 1, 2015. Clayton came to Lovington when he was twenty years of age riding his motorcycle. He loved farming in his earlier years and like caring for the animals and enjoyed working at the dairies as he loved the cows. One thing he loved doing was going to Main Street Café and visiting with his friends. He also liked going to the casino and his great joy was playing with the kids. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Homer Hughes, one sister: Irene Lux and one granddaughter: Vanessa Hughes. He is survived by three sons: Henry and wife Debbie Hughes of Lovington, NM; Mark and wife Kathy Hughes of Cash, Oklahoma and James and wife Angie Hughes of Ft. Worth; two daughters: Peggy Hughes of Lovington and Paula and husband Ron Medick of Huntington Beach, CA.; three brothers: Frank Hughes of Washington; Robert and wife Glenda Hughes of Longview, TX and Doug Hughes of Lamesa, TX; one sister: Louise and husband Bob Evans of Huntington, TX and nine grandchildren: Crystal, Ashley, Jonathan, April, Ethan, Delynda, Jessica, Gerald and Caleb.
