Douglas Hardy Hughes October 19, 1933 - October 23, 2017 Graveside services for Douglas Hardy Hughes, 84, of Lamesa, TX will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the directions of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Douglas was born on October 19, 1933 in Lamesa, TX. to Hardy and Fannie (Murray) Hughes and passed away on October 23, 2017 at Raider Ranch in Lubbock, TX. Douglas married Joan Choate on June 23, 1956 in Lovington, NM. He worked many years overseas on offshore pipelines and in later years for Bos Dairy in Lovington, NM. Douglas was a member of Lamesa Masonic Lodge # 909 and Milam # 11 and Crestview Baptist Church. Surviving him are two daughters: Connie and husband Benny Flowers of Lamesa,TX and Donna Marshall also of Lamesa, TX; four grandsons: Trevor Lee and wife Brooke of Brownfield, TX., Wayne Smith and wife Shanna of Decatur, TX., Travis Marshall of Lamesa, TX., Dwayne Smith and wife Tasha of Boonville, NC; one granddaughter: Paige Marshall of Lamesa, TX.; two brothers: Frank Hughes and Robert Hughes; one sister: Louise Evans; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Hughes; his parents: Hardy and Fannie Hughes; Brothers: Homer and Clayton Hughes; one sister: Irene Lux; one grandson: AP Smith.
