Lenora Audrey Byrd August 10, 1910 - August 08, 2008 Graveside services for Lenora Byrd, 97, of Lovington will be 10:00 am Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Lovington Cemetery with Bro. Mack McCarthick officiating. Mrs. Byrd was born on August 10, 1910 in Dayton, New Mexico. She passed away on August 8, 2008 in Lovington, New Mexico. She was married to Robert Byrd. Mrs. Byrd came to Lovington abut 1950. She was called “Little Byrd” by a lot of her friends and family. She was a cook for the Lovington Hospital and the Senior Citizens Center in Lovington at one time. She enjoyed gardening & she mowed her own lawn until she was 96 years old. She had lived at Lovington Good Sam for the last couple of years. She was a well loved and cheerful person that you enjoyed being around. She is survived by one son, Lowell “Curly” Byrd and wife Jean of Eatonton, Georgia; one daughter, Glenda Prueitt and husband Len of Brooklyn, New York; son-in-law, Don Cole of Lovington, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Bertha Byrd of Lovington, New Mexico; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Houston and Martha Harrison; husband, Robert L. Byrd; two daughters, Barbara Cole and Joann West; two sons, Archie Byrd and Ronald Smith; three sisters and two brothers.
