Obituary of Mary Jennison

Mary Jennison November 30, 1922 - January 09, 2013 Memorial services for Mary Garnand Jennison, 90, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Dave Whitman officiating. Services are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mary was born on November 30, 1922 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Sydney Frank and Ruth Edna (Christner) Garnand and passed away on January 9, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. She married Morris C. Jennison in Salina, Kansas on June 19, 1944. She attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and graduated from the College of the Southwest in 1965. She taught in Lovington schools for eighteen years and was a member of the Retired Teachers’ Association. Mary moved to Lovington in 1957 and was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church for fifty five years, active in Quester’s Circle, and United Methodist Women. She was a charter member of and past president of Chapter AJ, P.E.O., a past officer of Caprock Chapter D.A.R., and officer of the American Legion Auxiliary. She delighted in the Lovington Senior Center and the Iris Garden Club. Her hobbies included collecting antiques and arrowhead hunting as well as playing bridge, dominos, and working crossword puzzles. Her greatest joys were her husband Morey, her family and numerous friends, and Pomeranians (Bobo and Molly). Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Ruth Moore; first husband Lt. Lowell V. Wright and their infant daughter, Mary Linda; daughter: Rosemary Good; son: James S. Jennison; and beloved husband, Morey Jennison. She is survived by one son: Jack Jennison of Lovington, NM; one daughter: Ruth Ann Williams and husband Gerry Williams of Albuquerque, NM five grandchildren: Elissa Jennison Crider and husband Kevin Crider of Rolla, MO; Amanda Mogg and husband Richard Mogg of Lubbock, TX; Brandon Hurlbert of Dallas, TX; Shawn Good of Austin, TX; Blake Jennison of Lovington, and two great grandchildren, Mylah and Sydney Mogg of Lubbock, TX. Also one daughter-in-law, Charlotte Jennison of Lovington, NM and one niece, Venn Moore of Pittsburgh, PA and a host of loving friends.
