Obituary of Bernia Dean Kemper

Bernia Dean Kemper June 20, 1936 - May 02, 2016 Funeral services for Bernia Dean “Bebe” Kemper, 79, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday at Crosswinds Church in Lovington, at 10:00 am with Bro. Matt Ray and Steve Lord, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery in Roswell, NM at 3:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Bernia Dean was born in Dexter, NM on June 20,1936 to Thomas Franklin and Rosa Bell (Miles) Sperling and passed away at her home on May 2, 2016. She was an active lady and very involved in life. She enjoyed dancing, arrowhead hunting, going to the casino, traveling and concerts. She liked playing cards and enjoyed her Bunco group and her sorority. She was a collector and especially liked collecting dishes. Bernia Dean married Maurice Eugene Menoud in 1954 and then in 1973 she married Roy H. Kemper Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands; two brothers: Thomas and Frank Sperling and two sisters: Martha Sperling and Ethel Russell and one grandson: Shawn Craig. Surviving her are two sons: Maurice F. Menoud of Midland, TX and Raymond D. and wife Denise Menoud of Artesia, NM; three daughters: Rose and husband Larry Craig of Roswell, NM; Brenda Robinson and partner, Dan Dalgliesh of Midland, TX; Ruth and husband Keith Price of Lovington, NM and one sister: Rozella Russell of LaFayette, LA.; nine grandchildren: Wesley and Chrissie Robinson, Ronny and Katy Robinson, Justin Menoud, Joe and Shawn Menoud, Whitney and Tiffany Menoud; Candace Menoud and Anthony Sanderson, Kacie and Bill Kerby, Brandon and Katy Price and Cody and Jacqie Craig. Also two stepdaughters: Andrea Kemper and Renee and husband Jeff Jeglewitz, both of Oklahoma and thirteen great-grandchildren: Kelton, Kanyon, Wyatt, Kaleb, Jace, Hunter, Spencer, Cooper, Preston, Camron, Ian and Caleb and Angela.
