Obituary of Subrena Ione Lackey

Subrena Ione Lackey June 22, 1967 - October 21, 2017 Funeral services for Subrena Ione Lackey, 50, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at New Hope Ministries Church with Pastor Zac Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in Roswell, NM at South Park Cemetery, 3101 South Main. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Subrena was born on June 22, 1967 in Denver, Colorado to Bennie Lee and Jutie Lyn (Bruton) White and passed away on October 21, 2017 in Lovington. She was raised in Artesia, NM and graduated from High School there before attending ENMUR in Roswell. She was Director of Midway Learning Center for a length of time and also later, taught at the Head Start in Artesia and Dexter, NM. She enjoyed music and singing, drawing and decorating and liked anything artistic. She liked birds and enjoyed going to the mountains, especially Cloudcroft and Ruidoso. She attended New Hope Ministries Church. Subrena was a loving, caring and unselfish young woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Lee White and her husband, Gary Morgan Lackey. Surviving her is her mother, Jutie Lyn White of Lovington; two sons: Benton Davis and fiancée Brieanna Olivas of Artesia and Chance Morgan Lackey of Hagerman, NM; her twin sister: Sonjia Schenk of Lovington; one niece: Katherine Irene Schenk of Lovington and one nephew: Travis Schenk of Los Alamos, NM, and several step-children, and other family members.
