Obituary of Mary Jo Lewis

Mary Jo Lewis April 21, 1931 - January 26, 2008 Funeral services for Mary Jo Lewis, 76, of Lovington, NM will be Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Burial services will be first at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery and then immediately to New Beginnings Church for service with family officiating. Mrs. Lewis was born on April 21, 1931 in Portales, NM. She passed away January 26, 2008 in Lovington, NM. She married Billy Leo Lewis on July 22, 1949 in Portales, NM. Mary Jo was a lady of many means. She was a homemaker, candle maker, worked with the young people for many years at JABC and most of all was a lady who loved the Lord and lived her life that way. She was very active at New Beginnings Church for the last several years. She especially enjoyed visiting with all the shops where they placed their cross candles. Survivors include her husband, Bill Lewis of the home; one son, Billy Lewis and wife Beth of Lovington, NM; two daughters, Margie Camp and husband Don of Roswell, NM and Sammye Jo Campbell and husband Jim of Big Spring, TX; one brother, Pete Browning of Snyder, TX.;nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thell and Margie Browning; one sister, Virginia Belew; and six brothers, Caleb, Joe, Charlie and Sam Browning and Jack and Lucian Thomas.
