Obituary of Maria Paz Marquez

Maria Paz Marquez May 29, 1932 - April 15, 2015 Funeral services for Maria Paz Marquez, 82, of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Redentor Molina officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Sunday night at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 pm until rosary time. Mrs. Marquez was born on May 29, 1932 in Municipio de Nombre de dios, Durango, Mexico to Francisco and Maria Flores Marquez and passed away at her home on April 15, 2015. She married Tomas Castillo in 1960. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and keeping her home clean and neat. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Jose Manuel Castillo; two brothers: Jose and Alberto Marquez. She is survived by her husband of the home; two sons: Tomas and wife Elvia Castillo and Roberto and wife Maria Castillo both of Lovington; two daughters: Maria del Rosario and husband Jose Martin Calzada of Hale Center, TX and Sofia Olivia and husband Antonio Macias of Lovington; one brother: Eugenio Marquez of Durango, Mexico and one sister: Petra Marquez of Durango, Mexico; Also thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
