Obituary of LaJuan McBeth

LaJuan McBeth April 23, 1960 - April 11, 2016 Funeral services for LaJuan McBeth, 55, of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Bro Harry Pittam officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. LaJuan was born on April 23, 1960 in Hobbs, NM to James Edward and Frankie LaJuan (Jones) McBeth and passed away on April 11, 2016 at her home in Lovington. After her graduation she married her high school sweetheart, Bruce Baskett on June 3, 1978 in Lovington and had a family soon after. She was a very talented and artsy person and could paint or draw anything freehanded. She was an amazing cook and baker and loved being outside in the sunshine, at the lake, or planting flowers in her yard. She took pride in everything she did. Singing and dancing, reading her Bible, watching movies or listening to music and writing poetry were some of the things she loved to do. Her family, especially her children and grandchildren were her greatest treasures! It was always a fun and crazy time at Nana and Papa’s house. She married Randy Heavington on February 12, 2005 in Lovington. LaJuan enjoyed working and volunteering at Heart’s Desire and she went on a “Walk to Emmaus” in February of 2008 and that experience was unique and amazing for her life. She was attending New Beginnings Church. LaJuan had friends near and far and she loved hard and loved life with the biggest heart! She was headstrong, fierce and stubborn but gave so freely and she will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her Daddy, Jim McBeth; maternal grandparents: W.B. and Catherine Jones and paternal grandparents: T. L. and Myrtie McBeth and one niece , Amanda Bujol. Surviving her is her soulmate for life, Randy Heavington; Daughter: Chassie and husband Brian Baize of Artesia, NM; Son: Matt and wife Shannon Baskett of Lovington; Her mother: Frankie McBeth of Lovington; Sisters: Jimmie Lynn McBeth of Artesia, NM and Marcie and husband Melvin Brehm of Lovington;Two grandchildren: Chloe Elliott of Artesia and Stratton Seifert of Portales and two step-grandchildren: Stephanie and Preston Hill of Lovington; two nephews: Austin and Dakota Brehm of Lovington and great-nephew: Bryce Bujol of Lake Charles, LA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
