Obituary of Amber Dawn McKee

Amber Dawn McKee June 22, 1987 - July 08, 2015 Funeral services for Amber Dawn McKee, 28, of McCamey, Texas will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10:00 am at Fellowship of Believers Church on North Grimes in Hobbs, NM with Pastors David Matkins and Mike Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Amber was born in Hobbs, NM on June 22, 1987 to David Cowger and Sherri (Curtis) Cowger Trent and passed away on July 8, 2015 in Texas in a vehicle accident. Amber spent her early years in Hobbs later moving to Texas with her family. She loved the outdoors, fishing and especially swimming. She liked to read and loved music and was a very outgoing young woman, always upbeat, energetic and never met a stranger. She was employed by Bakersfield-Exxon in McCamey, TX. Preceding her in death was her grandfather, Johnny Mack Curtis. Surviving her is her son, James William “J.J.” McKee Jr of McCamey and her former husband, J. W. McKee of McCamey, TX; her mother and step-dad: Sherri and husband Danny Trent of Grand Prairie, TX and David Cowger of Virginia; two step-brothers: Seth Trent of Dallas, TX and Tyler Trent of McKinney, TX; her Grandmother: Pauletta Curtis of Hobbs, NM and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2:00 until 5:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home in Lovington, NM. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
