Obituary of Vicente Mendoza

Watch the Tribute Vicente Mendoza January 22, 1940 - November 23, 2010 Funeral Services for Vicente Mendoza, 70, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, November 26, 2010 at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Rosary will be Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Mendoza was born on January 22, 1940 to Alejandro and Maria (Lara) Mendoza in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico and passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Nor-Lea Hospital in Lovington. He married Maria Garcia on April 14, 1960 in Camargo, Chihuahua and they came to Lovington in 1990. He was a farmer before his retirement and he enjoyed working with wood and loved his family. He was a man with a good sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Ricardo Mendoza and one son: Able Mendoza. He is survived by his wife, Maria of the home; 2 sons: Luis & wife Edwiges Mendoza of Milque, Chihuahua and Vicente Jr and wife Emma Mendoza of Lovington; five daughters: Lourdes Mendoza of Camargo, Chihuahua; Irma and husband Geraldo Gonzalez of Dumas, TX; Guadalupe and husband Mario Banuelas and Rita and husband Rosendo Ruacho all of Camargo, Chihuahua; and Angelica and husband Joel Munoz of Lovington, NM. Four brothers: Mario and wife Blanca Mendoza and Francisco Mendoza both of Las Cruces, NM and Ruben and wife Elisia Mendoza of Lordsburg, NM and Javier Mendoza of Juarez, Mexico; four sisters: Genovea and husband Alberto Reyes of Lordsburg, NM; Alejandra and husband Ward Cosgrove of El Paso, TX; Anna and husband Raul Vasquez of Lordsburg, NM and Josefina Mendoza of Las Cruces, NM; twenty three grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 24, 2010 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm; Thursday, November 25th from 2:00 pm until Rosary at 7:00 PM and Friday from 8:30 until 9:30 am.
