Obituary of Kitty Faye Miller

Kitty Faye Miller September 02, 1944 - June 08, 2010 Memorial services for Kitty “Dolly” Faye Miller, 65, of Tucson, AZ will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM, July 3, 2010 at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Lovington Cemetery. Kitty had her celestial transfer at home surrounded by her family on June 8, 2010. Memorial services were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tucson, AZ on June 19, 2010. Kitty was born in Rosenberg, Texas on September 2, 1944. After retiring from New Mexico State University, she moved to Tucson and worked for 13 years at the Children’s Clinic for Rehabilitation Services until she was diagnosed with ALS. Kitty loved life and was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and pugs. She will be remembered by her family as a nurturing, witty, and caring mother and an awesome, caring, cool, diligent, and loving grandmother. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Drummond. Surviving her is her father, Ray Drummond; sisters, Dixie Drummond, Carol Streber, and Lynda McGinnes all of Lovington; Sister-in-law, Lori Grimm; 3 children: Becky Young and husband David, John Gilmore and wife Kathy, and Janean Gilliland; son-in-law, Opie Gilliland; 9 grandchildren; Andrew Young, Joey Gilmore, Arinda Gilmore, Rachel Young, Adam Gilmore, Nathan Young, Jackie Gilmore, Ryan Gilliland and Dylan Gilmore; nephews, Jeremy Grimm and Pilar Carrasco and wife Diana; and loving caregiver Amanda Olson.
