Obituary of Catherine Nash Howard

Catherine "Cathy" Nash Howard September 10, 1958 - August 07, 2015 Funeral services for Catherine “Cathy” Nash-Howard, 56, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with Donald Vaughn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Cathy was born on September 30, 1958 in Hobbs, NM to Charles Sessions and Ivory Smith and passed away on August 7, 2015 at her home. Cathy grew up in Hobbs and went to school there. Then came to Lovington and she raised her family here for the most part and their home was always full of their friends. Cathy loved to dance, cook and would feed whomever was there and she was given the nickname of “Momma Cat” by her kid’s friends. She was the queen of shopping for clothes, shoes and jewelry and enjoyed dressing up. She had a very loving and giving heart. She was preceded in death by her mother: Ivory Smith Sessions; her Father: Fred Bedford; Shirley Evans who raised her and her first husband: Louis Nash Jr.; three sisters: Mattie Evans, Synthia Lynch and Barbara Ann Evans; two brothers: Harry Lee Evans and Joe Evans. Cathy is survived by her husband: Willie Howard of Lovington, NM; three daughters: Shawnda and husband Fred Vaughn of Lovington, NM, Cameda and husband De’Marco Ballard of Lovington, NM and Pamela Howard of Odessa, TX; three sons: Dedric Nash and companion Linda Hicks of Lovington, NM; Willie Howard III of Dallas, TX; and Kemond Howard of Odessa, TX; two sisters: Latasha and husband Sylvester Bouldin of San Antonio, TX and Paula Smith and companion Cedric Eagans of Hobbs, NM; her step-father: Charles Sessions and twenty grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, August 14, 2015 from noon until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
