Rafael Ontiveros November 12, 1905 - January 26, 2008 Funeral services for Rafael Ontiveros, 102, of Lovington will be Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Rosary is Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 7:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Mr. Ontiveros was born on November 12, 1905 in Las Trujas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He passed away January 26, 2008 in Lubbock, Texas. He married Aurora Mesa Ontiveros on September 17, 1945 in Maricopa, Arizona. Mr. Ontiveros loved his family. He also enjoyed gardening. He is survived by nine sons, Milton Ontiveros and wife Gloria of Lowell, Wyoming; Frank Ontiveros and wife Estela of Chicago, Illinois; Jose Ontiveros and wife Maria of Lovington, New Mexico; Andres Ontiveros and wife Frances of Hereford, Texas; Anastacio Ontiveros of McAllen, Texas; Frank M. Ontiveros and wife Lisa of Lovington, New Mexico; Jesus M. Ontiveros of Lovington, New Mexico; Guadalupe Monrrial and wife Diana of Lovington, New Mexico; Jose Peña and wife Elizabeth of Lovington, New Mexico; seven daughters, Martina Anez of Fostoria, Ohio; Eudelia Rodriguez of San Benito, Texas; Hope Ogas and husband Enrique of Dimmitt, Texas; Fay Tovar and husband Jose of Lovington, New Mexico; Connie Turrubiates and husband Ramon of Lovington, New Mexico; Maria Leyva and husband Ruben of Lovington, New Mexico; Cruz Navarro and husband Pedro of Lovington, New Mexico; 90 grandchildren and 174 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aurora Mesa Ontiveros; his parents, Pedro and Cruz Ontiveros; four sons; three grandsons and one granddaughter.
