Obituary of Lois Armede Patterson

Lois Armede Patterson March 13, 1919 - March 07, 2014 Graveside funeral services for Armede Patterson, 94, of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Resthaven Cemetery with Reverend Dave Whitman, Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Mrs. Patterson was born on March 13, 1919 in Bee Cave (Austin), Texas to Wiley and Thelma (Owsley) Wallace and passed away at the Retirement Ranch in Clovis, NM on Friday, March 7, 2014. She was married to Robert “Bob” Patterson on September 25, 1940 in Waco, Texas and they shared fifty seven years of marriage. She was a member of the Lea County Extension Club and the Sandy Sams Travel Club. She enjoyed arrowhead hunting, sewing and cooking. She especially enjoyed cooking for cowboys and loved reading Louis Lamour books. At one time the Maljamar restaurant was owned by her mother. In early years she helped with 4-H and also enjoyed china painting. She entered some of her china painting at the Lea County Fair. Armede was employed by Turners Department Store for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband one great-grandson, Renn Bailey and two sisters, Mary Alice and Hazel and one brother, Geoff Wallace. She is survived by two sons: Jim and wife Mariann Patterson of Bingham, NM and Bob and wife Debra Patterson of Millsap, TX and one daughter: Barbara and husband Tommy Hamar of Melrose, NM, also seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
