Obituary of Donda Wallace Pool

Donda Wallace Pool October 12, 1948 - March 10, 2017 Donda Wallace Pool passed away March 10, 2017 in Lanciano, Italy at the age of 68. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Donda was born in Hobbs, NM on October 12, 1948 to Don and Lois (Lister) Wallace. On January 17, 1981, she married Tom Pool in St. Petersburg, Florida. They enjoyed 36 years of adventures, traveling extensively in the US and abroad. Until Donda retired in 2008, she was employed by the NM Department of Children, Youth and Families as Special Assistant to the Cabinet Secretary. After retirement she and Tom lived in Ecuador for several years and then moved to Italy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dianne Smith. Surviving her are the three loves of her life, her husband: Tom Pool of Italy, her son: Jason Shields and his wife Siv, of Voss, Norway. Also two nieces: Natasha Dees, Amber Smith and their children. She will also be missed by her numerous cousins and a host of friends from around the world.
