Obituary of LLoyd Dale Pruett

LLoyd Dale Pruett December 14, 1937 - October 19, 2017 Funeral services for Lloyd “Dale” Pruett, 79, of Jal, NM, will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Jal First Baptist Church with Bro. Jody O’Briant officiating. Burial will follow at Jal Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am – 11:00 am on Tuesday morning. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Pruett was born in Mountainair, NM on December 14, 1937 to Lloyd Eugene and Cora Clyde (Ainsworth) Pruett and passed away at Winkler County Memorial Hospital on October 19, 2017. Dale grew up in Fairfield, CA and Vale, OR and then moved with his family to Hobbs, NM in 1949. He attended school in Hobbs then joined the Air Force and served his time at Lackland Air Force Base. He Married Mary Ruth McCarter on November 3, 1957 and they have shared sixty years of life and family together. He was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company for thirty seven years before his retirement. Dale’s favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs and he was an avid cheerleader for each one. He enjoyed camping and traveling and fishing in Utah but his greatest enjoyment was his family, the kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Clyde Pruett. Surviving him is his wife, Mary Ruth of the home; three sons: Eldon and Whitney Pruett of Carlsbad,; Chris and Samantha Pruett of Hobbs, NM and Eddie and Twyla Pruett of Tulsa, OK; one sister: Bonnie and Jackie Griffin of Hobbs, NM; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew and a host of friends.
